CHI2021 Conference new dates

We are pleased to announce that the 11th City Health 2021 conference will take place 29-30 November in Warsaw, Poland.

Hopes, Fears and Opportunities - What has the pandemic taught us about meeting the health needs of vulnerable populations?

What have we learnt about supporting vulnerable populations during a period of crisis? Since the Pandemic began we have seen examples of what can be achieved when political will and resources are combined. There have also been cases where a failure by government or agencies to respond has resulted in avoidable tragedies. As attention shifts to focussing on the economic recovery what can be done to help those vulnerable groups who are at risk of being left even further behind. What lessons can we draw from recent experience? Where are the opportunities to transform lives and communities? What new risks do these groups face?

Certainly, there is no shortage of topics or learning to share relating to the last year and the very clear challenges ahead of us. The importance of more effective collaboration, maximisation of available resources and improved public engagement are all evident. We will be in touch soon regarding themes and abstracts for the conference. Registration will open early in the summer.

Due to the ongoing Covid situation the travel situation remains dynamic, and this may prevent some people from participating live. For that reason we will also be streaming the event, to ensure that nobody misses out and to maximise participation.

Citizen science and traffic counting online event

Thursday 02 September 2021, 09:00 to 12:30

Online, Europe-wide

In recent years, citizen science has been on the rise: volunteers are assisting scientific research by collecting data, carrying out measurements, and conducting tests. Indeed, more and more local authorities are actively working with their residents on research projects. Involving residents is not just a cost-effective way to collect data, but it also increases public support. Residents not only gain insight into the data they collect, but also feel more involved.

Reimagining City Transformation: Cities 4.0 online

Online | September 21-22, 2021

Cities around the world are reimagining the future, using the pandemic as an opportunity to come up with urban solutions that will make life better and more prepared for crisis. They are aspiring to create greener spaces in their urban areas, improve connectivity, reduce congestion, focus on sustainability, and be more adaptive and smarter with new technology and materials.

As people have been forced to keep inside, out of schools and workplaces, as well as away from one another, new challenges have been presented. Life may not return to the way it once was. Cities will need to adapt to a new reality and there are no universal solutions.

The hosting of the fourth edition of Cities 4.0 will once again provide the governments, municipalities, urban planners, developers, urban futurists, solution providers and innovators an interactive platform to converge and discuss the methods and best practices to re-imagine our fundamental relationship with the cities, and the opportunities to work outside their normal methods.
