The headline results from this year's Workplace Survey are pleasing.

One thing that comes through very strongly is the sense of camaraderie, achievement and pride in the positive results we are delivering to our communities.

There are several areas where we've made great strides, and I'm pleased to see that levels of engagement across the organisation are up on last year.

That's not to say there aren't one or two areas where we could improve. The whole purpose of the survey is to take the temperature of the organisation and identify areas where we can do things better.

The Police Executive team sees the surveys as an important channel for staff feedback. As leaders across the organisation, we're committed to finding ways to respond to opportunities for improvement. That's what good leadership is all about.

That's why leaders in each District and service centre have been asked to identify the best opportunity for improvement in their area and to work with you to create initiatives that will make Police an even better place to work.

Police continue to be significantly above the state sector benchmark in terms of staff engagement, including in the number of staff who are fully engaged.

The latest Performance Improvement Framework (PIF) review found that few government agencies of our size and complexity have been able to implement and sustain the level of change that we have without major disruption to public services.

Taken together, these results show that as an organisation, we have managed to stay focused on the job we do despite the pressures of recent years - and that's something you can all be proud of.
