Two Positions
Roading Operation Manager and Three-Waters Operation Manager

City Care is a leading provider of construction, maintenance and management services across New Zealand’s infrastructure. We work around the clock maintaining and managing our nation’s infrastructure and amenity assets. We also keep an eye on the future by working with our clients to create new infrastructure for the wellbeing and enjoyment of people. Working out of 15 locations throughout New Zealand, City Care’s team of over 1,100 proudly provide services to approximately two million people around the country.

City Care’s National Construction Division provides roading, landscaping, civil and ‘three water’ construction services as well as petro-civil and sub-division construction activities. To complement these activities, National Construction undertakes road and bridge maintenance, surfacing, road marking and traffic management and amenity cleaning. The Division runs an asphalt plant in Christchurch and offers engineering testing services through an accredited laboratory.

Following the February earthquake, City Care became part of the Stronger Christchurch Infrastructure Rebuild Team (SCIRT), an alliance between Christchurch City Council, Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority (CERA), New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA), City Care, Downer, Fulton Hogan, Fletcher Construction and MacDow New Zealand. City Care was chosen as one of the Alliance contractors following the September 4 2010 earthquake because of our proven track record of working on Christchurch City Council projects, our understanding of Christchurch’s infrastructure and due to our project and construction management capability to manage large-scale contract work.

We are looking for two unique individuals to fill the roles of Roading Operations Manager and Three Waters Operations Manager. These roles will play an important part in assisting with Christchurch’s rebuild, in addition to growing National Construction’s business throughout the country.

Reporting to the National Construction Operations Manager, the requirements for both roles include:

  • sound technical knowledge, understanding and experience in the discipline areas
  • strong leadership and staff management skills with the ability to build, motivate and lead a team
  • proven Health and Safety knowledge and operational application
  • exceptional forward work planning and organisation ability, good time management and attention to detail
  • the ability to work alongside Project Managers on the delivery and execution of multi-million dollar projects.
